德新苗族“会亲节”由来已久，已有一千多年历史。在以前，忙碌了一个春季的四寨苗族同胞，在每年农历六、七月农闲时节，结合当地苗家＂六事＂习俗，奏跳着芦笙舞开展祭祀的＂跳月＂活动。在会亲节之时，苗族人民都煮着糯米饭，蒸着腊肉，酿制可口的豆腐，邀约十里八乡的亲朋挚友来寨里欢聚、畅叙，交流、沟通情感，共祝风调雨顺，展望秋季好收成。如今逐渐演变成以国家级非物质文化遗产——长衫龙芦笙舞蹈为载体，集农业生产、走亲访友、青年男女交友于一体的少数民族传统节日。
